Free copy of Media Services Guide to Commercial Union Contracts.
Producers, Production Managers and Production Coordinators face many challenges to understanding the requirements of the multiple union contracts that apply to TV commercial production. (more) In order
to meet these challenges Media Services has developed the Media Services
Commercial Guide.
The sixty-nine page Guide is now in its fifth year and seventh major update. The FREE Version 7.1 update to the Guide is now
available by sending an email request to commercialguide@media-services.com. An Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) file will
automatically be returned to the sender. Printed copies can be obtained
by contacting Carl Zucker at carl@media-services.com or (917)305-8302.
The Guide is the only publication exclusively covering union contracts and payroll issues affecting the TV commercial industries. It includes
detailed synopses of over fifteen union agreements as well as extensive information about Wage and Hour and Right to Work laws. Complete charts
of union jurisdictions and union holidays are also included as well as extensive information about Independent Contractor Status and Signatory issues.
Many of the forms needed for payroll processing, such as I-9,
W-4, Kit Rental, Mileage and DGA Reporting are included in printable
formats. "Over the years, working as a Producer, 1st AD and at Media
Services, I've seen how difficult it is for production personnel to
get clear information about the day to day requirements of the various
union agreements." says Carl Zucker, VP of Marketing and the editor of
the Guide. "This guide, along with our periodic seminars, was created
to help educate them to the intricacies of these issues.
Distributed as
an Acrobat file, production personnel can always have it available on
their computers. In addition, I am available by phone and email for
clients and non-client alike to help with interpretations of the unique
situations which they face." Data from the Media Services Commercial
Guide is also supplied and republished by various industry directories
including NY 411, LA 411, New York Production Guide (NYPG) and the New
York Film & Video Guide.
